Spain from the above we are somewhere near Madrid. |
The first day we set off exploring. Many beautiful houses lining the
dried-out river Rio Guadaldmedina. |
During the period when the Rio Guadalmedina is dry it's used to many activities. |
Many artists make use of the concrete walls to a pure vernissage, the
motives are often linked to water. |
Here we see two of all the activities we saw along the river. Volleyball and skateboard. |
The flowering tree on the left is said to be jacaranda and must be
protected. The right one, we have no idea what it's called, but we
suggest bottle palm. |
Just a few hundred meters from our apartment is the center where everything happens. Plaza de la Constitución was pretty deserted this early in the morning. It becomes something else later in the day. |
Further down towards the harbor we found the Plaza de la Marina with its
alternating fountain. |
Andersen.
Siwan sit here and relax with her old friend,
Hans Christian. |
Along Paseo de Espana lies this park as founded in the 1890s on the
drained seabed. The green parrots breed here up in the palm trees.
However, we saw no one in bird of paradise. Strange! |
In the middle of the park there is a small stage, a pond and this bench. We never checked tile prices but they must be cheap in Spain? Everything's tiled. |
Mercado de Atarazanas, built in the 1300s, during nazaríepoken, thus not
the Nazi era, is the most famous market hall in Malaga. |
Beautiful stained glass adorns one end.
Good selection of fish, meat and vegetables. |
Quick Lunch at the market hall, paella. The picture is not taken by José
(you know he from Faulty Towers, but by a another person from Barcelona,
a nice girl. |
Do not know about the Ferris wheel has a name, perhaps Malaga Eye? But neat, it was in the evening lighting. |
If you are in Spain you have to swim in the sea. We did too, here Siwan
test one of the two playas you find in Malaga. In a boat full with sand
they made a fire and grilled sardines. Looked tasty but we never tried
them. |
There was many modern houses with different and spectacular architectural appearance. |
According to our taste is the modern houses looking nice but surely is
the older houses much more beautiful?
But why bricking doors and windows on the left image? |
Huge house in pure Gaudi-style to left. To decorate a house with rats and skeletons in a chest are a little too morbid. Isn't it? |
Surely the church to left feels a bit coming out of a spaghetti western
with Clint Eastwood, with modern twist? Lighthouse in the harbour to the
right. |
Köket, den naturliga samlingsplatsen. Här samlar Siwan sig.
The kitchen, the natural meeting place. |
The door to the bedroom downstairs you have to go through to get to the
toilet. Perhaps not the best solution if you are many, but for us two
quite ok. |
Sitting area and the sleeping area upstairs. Soffgrupp och sovplatsen på övervåningen. |
By accident we happened to end up on Primarkt. A great mistake,
otherwise I would not have found this beautiful cow apparel. |
Now we are in Malaga for real. We are at the Plaza de la Marina. |
