Talk about Christmas spirit! You really feel the presence of |
||
Christmas market at the Church. I thnk the tents were so nice, as the knights tent at a tournament. |
As I said around 60 Christmas markets in
Berlin, this was a more "serious" a
giant
church bazaar. |
|
Here an example of what was sold in this market. A fantastic wood carving with religious motive. Unfortunately, through a shop window, hence the reflections. |
Professional mountain climbers? Nah, sign acrobatics. The guys are putting
up huge advertising signs on house walls and scaffolding, with full mountain
climbing equipment. |
|
The germans take every chance to decorate for Christmas. If it's neat, is another issue. |
Around the famous Gedächtnis Kirsche is
also a Christmas market. The church, to
remind us of the horrors of war are kept in
the bombed state, with a brand
new extension. |
|
Of what's remaining is this stunning mosaic in the old part of the church. |
The newly built section have a fantastic
light, thanks to the fantastic blue
windows. |
|
I en minneskyrka ska man minnas. In a memorial church you have to remember your passed away reltives. |
Beware Siwan they are a giant nutcracker
behind you! |
|
A very nice table had a sausage filling |
This is candles, I wouldn't take them if I got
them for free. But you can buy
them, if you
want, for just €8.5. |
|
Gedächtniskirche by night. Gedächtniskirche memorial Church by night. Atmospheric with the old and new part surrounded by a Christmas market. |
Three giant symbols of the German Christmas, Santa, Christmas tree and the
Nutcracker, lined up the path to the Memorial Church. |
|
Potsdamer symbolizes the new Berlin, with fantastic architecture. As someone said, "More future than the coolest SF movie. |
A skyline that seems more USA, than Germany. |
|
So cool, but how does the furniture into these houses look like? The left has obviously rounded furniture, but the right has it tables with different length of the table legs? |
An inside square that is so cool, with an
exclusive Christmas Market, Christmas in
the color blue.... |
|
This is the roof to the inside square, |
Just can't let this place be, it is absolutely fantastic with skyscrapers and the
folded roof. |
|
East Berlin had its own old men with hats on the stoplights, these have now become cult, and in all sorts of items including these sponges. True tourist candy, right? |
Nah, now we go to the Dali museum it's so close. Just click on the button and
